Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 wrapped in Swarovski crystals

Lamborghini’s latest toy could be an amazing gift for the car-loving kid who knows how to take care of collectibles, or it could be one of those "I’m buying myself a great present" moments. This 1:18 scale Aventador LP 700-4 was built by Burago and is wrapped in Swarovski crystals. Yes, Swarovski.
Each unit is painted in a crystal color and features a total of 8400 Swarovski elements, emitting luxury and stunning brilliance from this tiny supercar. Each unit also comes in a Black leatherette box with an awe-inspiring realistic design.
Only 500 units of this very cool die-cast Aventador will be produced, so if anyone wants one, they’ll need to move fast and produce €1,000, about $1,300 at the current exchange rates. It may be a little early for Christmas, but they’ll surely sell out before that time comes.

2013 Lamborghini Gallardo GT3 FL2

Lamborghini has unveiled today the first details on the new Gallardo GT3 FL2 racecar that is set to be used in the 2013 and 2014 seasons. The model is based on the 2013-model-year Gallardo and has been developed in cooperation with Reiter Engineering.
The first details offered by Lamborghini reveal that the new GT3 FL2 will receive "24-hour" brakes, improved engine cooling and reduced fuel consumption. Because we are talking about a racecar, we will also see a highly efficient aero kit, including a new front splitter and a rear carbon diffuser based on the one developed for the Super Trofeo. Also, when compared to the Gallardo GT3, the new FL2 version will be about 55 pounds lighter.
So, is this Lambo prepared to take over where the outgoing Gallardo GT3 leaves off, or will it be buried amongst the Porsche and Ferrari racecars?

Underground Racing Pushes the Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Performante Past 1,000 Horsepower

Underground Racing started 2013 big, and we mean really big, as they have prepared a monstrosity of a program for the Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Performante, which is owned by a gentleman named Joe from Texas. In its standard version, the LP570-4 Performante is powered by a 5.2-liter V-10 engine that produces a total of 570 horsepower. That wasn’t enough for Joe, as opted for a Stage 3 upgrade that almost doubled the supercar’s output.
Stage 3 upgrade includes two Precision Turbochargers, Motec boost by gear, an optional quick-shift upgrade and much more. Underground Racing announced that after installing the Stage 3 upgrades, the LP570-4 supercar will deliver an estimated total of 1,000 horsepower at the wheels on pump gas and 1,250 horsepower at the wheels on race fuel. This car still has to be tested on dyno, so stay tuned to learn the official output of this impressive Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Performante.
Of course, the price for such an amazing update is pretty hefty at $94,000, which is about half the price of the standard car. As you know, performance costs!

Lamborghini Announces Limited-Run Production of the Sesto Elemento

When Lamborghini announced that it was commemorating its 50th anniversary with style reserved only for the Italian automaker, a lot of people were expecting the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento to finally show its production face. Well, you’re going to get your wish.
Each priced at around $2.2 million and limited to only 20 units, the Sesto Elemento will be produced at five different build stations at the automaker’s new Pre-Series Center. Once each Sesto Elemento is ready, Lambo will use 24 bright lights to inspect every nook and cranny of the supercar to ensure that there are no imperfections.
Unfortunately, each of the 20 Sesto Elementos already have an owner, so if you’re looking to score one, your best bet is to probably give the reserved owner an offer he can’t refuse.
For those that don’t recall, the Sesto Elemento weighs in at a svelte 999 pounds and carries a V-10 engine that twists out 570 Nm (420 pound-feet) of torque. With its powerful V-10 engine and lightweight carbon-fiber-reinforced-plastic body, the Sesto Elemento can hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 2.5 seconds and can hit a top speed in excess of 320 km/h (198 mph).

Lamborghini CEO Confirms New Model for Company’s 50th Anniversary

Lamborghini’s 50th anniversary is coming in 2013 and it looks like the company has big plans for this celebration, which we learned a portion of a few months ago. In an interview with Automotive News, Lamborghini CEO, Stephan Winkelmann, confirmed that a new, one-off design will be unveiled to mark this event.
Winkelmann said that this new model won’t be "a revival or retro," but he didn’t give us any more details. So, this new model won’t be the replacement for the current Gallardo, but we should expect something like the Aventador J that was unveiled at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show.
Next to the unveiling of this special edition model, Lamborghini will also mark the celebration of its 50th anniversary with a series of special celebrations. One will be a "Grande Giro Lamborghini" set to be held on May 2013 where owners from all over the world have been invited to participate. The cars will travel from through Tuscany, Rome, Bologna and finally to the Lamborghini factory at Sant’Agata Bolognese. Lamborghini also announced that every dealer in the world will have a smaller-scale event.

2012 Lamborghini Gallardo Project Mastermind by SR Auto Group

Even if the entire world is waiting for the Lamborghini Gallardo’s successor - also known as the Cabrera - to arrive on the market, the guys over SR Auto Group have developed a very cool Project Mastermind based on the best sold Lamborghini ever.
The American tuner decided to re-interpret the old tuning packages offered by Hamann and transformed the Gallardo into a supercar ready to enter the fresh new year ahead. SR Auto Group started by adding a new front spoiler with a two piece design: the first one fits the contours of the front bumper with a slight flare at the edges and the second section is a carbon fiber splitter which rests underneath the center of the lip. They have also installed new side skirts and a rear lower spoiler. These new elements have been paint matched to flow with the front spoiler.
The last piece of the puzzle is a new set of 20" PUR 2WO monoblock wheels painted in a very modern matte black.
We don’t know about you, but for sure this car is giving us more reasons to be thankful.

Second Teaser Image for the DMC Aventador Limited Edition

Last week, DMC unveiled the first teaser image for an upcoming package it is preparing for the Lamborghini Aventador. Another week, another teaser image, as DMC has posted an extreme close-up of the front fascia, which shows elements of Lamborghini’s "J" Roadster that was on display at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year.
The new DMC Aventador Limited Edition will be based on the LP700/LP900 package and judging by all this teasing, we presume it will be something special.
We don’t know what this new package will bring, but taking a look at DMC’s previous tuning packages for the Aventador, we can only imagine. The previous Molto Veloce was offered in two engine versions – 700 and 900 horsepower – so, is it too crazy for us to think this package may sneak nearer to the 1,000-horsepower mark?
Official debut will be made on December 12, 2012, so stay tuned for the official details.
